Health Plan Project Manager

Position Overview: The TPA/Health Plan Project Manager will oversee and manage complex projects related to third-party administration (TPA) and health plan operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the healthcare industry, with a strong background in TPA and health plan management. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to ensure the successful execution of projects that align with our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage TPA and health plan projects from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, finance, and compliance, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and senior management on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and dependencies, ensuring proactive risk management and problem-solving.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in TPA and health plan management, integrating this knowledge into project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the healthcare industry, specifically in TPA and health plan operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects, with a focus on healthcare administration.
- Strong understanding of TPA and health plan operations, including regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative and accountability.
